Young and old enjoying vintage Sunbeams

This is an outstanding one-day agricultural show located just outside Okehampton with the stunning backdrop of Dartmoor. If you are into horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, chooks, ducks and everything that goes with it, then this is the show for you. For those not totally dedicated to the agricultural side there is an excellent old vehicle and tractor section and it is a regular annual event for certain members in the far South West.

On this occasion no less than three generations of the Harrison family arrived in their two Sunbeams, a 14/40 and a Speed 20 . Peter Wright brought his magnificent 20/60 tourer which he acquired from Ian Fullalove some two years ago. It was good to see this car on the road again. Maggie and I came in the Sports 21 which is going like a bird after sorting a worn-out distributor last year.

The impressive line up of four Sunbeams demonstrates that STD is very much active in these parts. It was just a great day out especially as we celebrated Hugh Harrison’s birthday with a slice of Barbara’s renowned home baked cake.
